If I knew I couldn’t fail, I would perform brain research and discover a treatment that would cure all known mental illnesses. The cure would be free of adverse side-effects, would be inexpensive, and would work within 24 hours.
Mental illness is very common and causes a lot of suffering. Yet, many people with a mental illness receive little or no treatment.
I would want to find a charitable way to provide the treatment throughout the world in such a way that everyone who wanted it would receive it.

Thanks for your comment. I can’t give you a clear answer for a couple of reasons.
First, I don’t know what “Traditional issues” you are referring to.
Second, my cure is a fantasy. If it could cure all mental illnesses, it would cure them regardless of their cause.
So, if the Traditional issues to which you refer, are stressors of some kind and they triggered a mental illness and not just a normal mentally painful response, they would be cured.
If, however, the Traditional issues do not lead to a mental illness, the cure would be irrelevant.
Perhaps, a situation we see is sadness in response to the death of a beloved pet. That sad mood is unpleasant but is normal and not a mental disorder.
I hope that helps.

The sad thing is that if you did come up with a cure, it would probably be shut down. On the Live to 100 docuseries on Netflix I saw, the journalist said – paraphrasing here – we’re incented to be ill because all the money is made in treating people. You’d put too many pharma companies out of business. Gosh, sorry to be such a cynic! I would love it if you could cure mental illnesses – of any kind – as I and many others I know battle them in our lives daily.

Thank you for your post. Many of us worry about things we can not control or we are limited in what we can do. I hope find encouragement just as I have in the following passage… Matthew 6:34 So never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles.
